High School Coach, 1-3 Years Racing Triathlon
“I love to compete, to push myself, and to get better at my sport. I like the whole atmosphere at races and consider myself to be a great encourager to others. I am somewhat young for full Ironman, and I want to compete with the Elites someday. I am going to work until I get there. The biggest thing for me in TrainingPeaks is the weekly summary. I punch in all my workouts and it shows me all my totals broken down into categories. It can be helpful to make sure I peak when and how l want to, that I don't overdo it, or not do enough. I can look at the total hours and see that.”
Steve Campbell signed up for his very first triathlon (Ironman Arizona 2010), before even owning a bike. Steve was a collegiate basketball player and after graduating, his best friend told him he could never finish an Ironman triathlon. Steve surrounded himself with triathletes at ClubSport Oregon, and with their help he learned the basics of swimming, biking, and running. Aside from just finishing, he earned a spot on the podium for his Age Group in Ironman Arizona. He has either won his Age Group or placed top 3 in several other triathlons, including one Ultramarathon and he is racing Ironman St. George and Canada this 2012.
