"What separates world-class athletes from one-another? We are all determined and dedicated athletes who work hard and sacrifice so much in our own lives to be the best. I believe it’s that extra 1% that you do that your competitors don’t. TrainingPeaks is part of that 1% for me.

I have a dedicated coach, Jim Miller, who religiously posts workouts for me. It allows me to sleep comfortably at night knowing that I have a plan, and it helps me prepare mentally for what I am faced with when I wake up each morning. For ten years, I have had a plan that I can access wherever I am in the world – eliminating stress and questions. As an athlete if I can properly prepare both mentally and physically for my daily training I am going to better my performance during each workout I do. Downloading SRM files daily to my coach also allowed for quicker feedback so that he or I could make changes to my schedule or workout if needed. TrainingPeaks has educated me along the way through great articles, forums and webinars that are offered on a regular basis. Because of these tools I am able to better understand my performance on a day-to-day basis."

Kristin Armstrong holds a World Championship title, one of the highest achievements in the sport of cycling, as well as two gold medals from the 2008 and 2012 Olympic individual time trial events. Kristin was a Junior Olympian in swimming at the age of 17, and also competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships, excelling as a professional triathlete. She turned to cycling after an osteoarthritis diagnosis made running competitively out of the question, and became an Olympian and World Champion in a relatively short time. She has since become one of the most accomplished American cyclists of all time.

Training & Nutrition Tips:

  • Balance has been the key to my success – take a day off, eat a balanced diet, enjoy the journey.
  • Sometimes that “one” day doesn’t always go the way you want it to – enjoy the journey that got you there - that’s what it’s all about.
