Unfortunately none of the Team Saxo Bank riders rode with an SRM Sunday so we weren’t able to share his file from the stage. We did however catch up with Gustav Larsson after the stage finish and ask him his thoughts on the final day.
"The whole team did a really good job today. We gave it a good go and put pressure on Astana. Frank (Schleck) won the stage and we won the mountains jersey,” explained Larsson.
When asked about his third place time trial result and his 486 average watts in the 30-minute event Gustav noted “My form is coming along good. I had a really good winter and I keep developing. I expected 480w in the TT and I used the SRM and tried to keep it near that.”
The Solvang time trial stage was Gustav’s first real test of the year and he is using the Tour of California to train for upcoming races. His next big objective is to do well in the Paris-Nice stage race. Following the Tour of California Gustav should be able to apply the collected data directly to his training so he can continue to get even faster.
