Chris Anker Sorenson- Super Domestique to Cancellara- Defense of the Yellow Jersey!
July 4, Stage 1: Rotterdam - Brussels 223.5km
1 Alessandro Petacchi (Ita) Lampre-Farnese Vini 5:09:38
2 Mark Renshaw (Aus) Team HTC - Columbia
3 Thor Hushovd (Nor) Cervelo Test Team
4 Robbie McEwen (Aus) Team Katusha
131 Chris Anker S.rensen (Den) Team Saxo Bank
Overall a pretty easy stage for Chris, with only the last 45 minutes being relatively fast. Over 12% of the stage not pedaling, so Chris did a good job of saving energy. Just look at the graph and how incredibly stochastic his power was today. Seems like a criterium almost with all of the "on" and "off" bursts of power. Check out the Quadrant Analysis of this as well to confirm that it was like a 4 hour criterium. 58% of the stage was spent in QIV, which means a quick cadence, but low force and 60% of the last 45 minutes was spent in QIV as well. Look at his TSS as well! Only 212 points for the entire stage, which means lots of sitting in the field and resting. Save it for later in the Tour Chris!
Hopefully Chris will be able to get some rest for tomorrow's stage as I am sure he'll need to be right near Cancellara all day.
Look for more tomorrow! Hope you enjoy !
