Stage 2: Tailem Bend - Mannum 146km

Ben Swift (SKY) wins Stage 2

Today’s 146km IG Markets Stage 2 was won by Britain's Ben Swift (Sky Procycling) in a time of 3:27:44 ahead of Robbie McEwen (Radio Shack) and Graeme Brown (Rabobank).

"It's the biggest win of my career, without a doubt, but it all felt a bit unreal to be honest because our plan changed three times in the final four kilometres," said Swift. "Fortunately we were all able to think on our feet and everything turned out brilliantly."

Swift posted the following comments within his TrainingPeaks training log, "So TDU stage 2 was today and what a great day it was for Team Sky. We have been doing some really good team work the last two days and today it paid off for us.  Got the win, my first at the highest level. The day didn't go so well for some of the guys with a lot of people crashing, hopefully they will all be on the start line tomorrow.  The stage was a really nice one with HTC controlling things nicely which made for a good day in the bunch. We ave a really tough day lined up tomorrow but Team Sky will be there to put on another good show."
