Chris held his own on the second mountain stage. His teammate Andy Schleck attacked at the base of the final climb of the day which produced a 5-minute power average of 432w for Chris Anker. Following the re-grouping, Chris Anker stayed near Schleck and set the pace several times for the front group. Chris averaged 383w for 20 minutes on the Col d'Agnes.

In the final kilometers four men stayed away to fight out who would win the stage while two minutes behind Chris Anker finished safely within the 53-man field along with his team leader Andy Schleck.
