The Fleche Wallone, or “Arrow Valley”, with its three ascents of the famous Wall of Huy, is the most beautiful race in the world that does not take part on a weekend. The mur de Huy is a challenge that puts a strain on even the best athletes in the world. The wall is 800m long with a maximum grade of 22% and is the springboard to victory for the one athlete with the best fitness at the moment.

As we can see on the final ascent of the wall, the maximum power was delivered at the beginning in order to establish the best position. Chris made his hardest effort of the entire race during the final 1.5km of the event. He peaked at 850W with an average of 700W for 10 seconds, more than 10W/ kg. This power was delivered with an average cadence of 95rpm, while in the uphill stretch, the average cadence was 80 rpm.
