Brian Vandborg of Saxo Bank-SunGard rode a solid prologue time trial today in Colorado Springs and averaged 343 watts with his normalized power of 365 watts for a time of 9 minutes and 12 seconds. He paced himself well and averaged 365 watts on the steeper first downhill portion of the race, which is impressive. For the flatter last 5 minutes, he put out 324 watts so he lost a bit of steam in the final section. His cadence was nailed between 97-100 rpm for the time trial and averaged 33.1mph. Vandorg should have a solid performance in the stages to come and it will be exciting to see his data each day.
