Eric Schwartz has been involved with endurance sports all his life. He was a collegiate runner at Indiana University before racing triathlons and duathlons. He was an age group world champion at Duathlon Worlds, he won the Duathlon Pro National Championships in 2004, and he has done Ironman Hawaii 3 times and had a personal best Ironman time of 9:19 at Ironman Wisconsin in 2004, finishing eighth.
Eric has been coaching since 2000. He has likely coached more athletes qualifying for the Duathlon World Championships than any other coach, and several of those athletes medalled. In 2008 he was the coach for the USA Elite Team at the Duathlon World Championships in Italy. In 2004 he wrote the training manual for the duathlon portion of the USAT Coaching certification program. He is also the founder of Duathlon.com.
These training plans are designed to get you in peak shape for your goal race. Each plan is created with daily workouts. Longer workouts are usually scheduled on weekends. Guidance is given to allow you to adjust plans as needed. Suggestions are also included as you prepare for your peak race. Your fitness will progress as you move through each plan. Intensity is based on either heart rate or perceived effort.
