Joe Friel, M.S ., author of the Training Bible book series and many other training and sports nutrition books, combines the science of training with his 30 years of coaching experience in training athletes of all abilities to provide you with a training plan designed to meet the demands of your event. You can find some of Joe’s books here.

The plans you see below reflect how he trains the triathletes, duathletes, road cyclists, recreational riders and runners he coaches and consults with. These athletes have included national champions, Olympians, and Ironman winners. He also works closely with those who are new to endurance sport coaching at least one novice every year. 

  • Each training plan contains all of the elements necessary to produce a high level of fitness in each of the key abilities to help you achieve your athletic goal: aerobic endurance, force, speed skills, and the advanced abilities necessary for your event (muscular endurance, anaerobic endurance, and/or power).
  • A complete day-to-day schedule is laid out for you in simple language to take the guesswork out of your training. Each workout is explained completely, often with contingency plans. The plans you see listed here are very easy to follow. And if you have questions on the details of a plan a TrainingBible coach trained by Joe will quickly reply to your emailed question.
